2006 Veterans' Bureau Valentine's Day Trips
The Cape May County Veterans' Bureau sponsored their 22nd Valentine's Day trip to the Wilmington V. A. Hospital in Elsmere, DE and the New Jersey Veterans' Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ on Wednesday, February 15, 2006.

3230 VT01 Veteran's organizations and their auxiliaries collected donations from businesses throughout Cape May County to present to hospitalized veterans. This group of 19, visited the Wilmington VA Hospital in Elsmere, DE.

3231 VT02 Freeholder Thornton said. "The highlight of this annual trip is to spend time with our hospitalized veterans', who have given so much to preserve our freedom, present them with small gifts complete with a Valentine's Day card handmade by Cape May County school children."

3234 VT03 One bus went to the Veterans' Home at Vineland, NJ. The Veterans were accompanied by 9 students and 1 teacher from Wildwood Catholic High School.
Teacher: Mary Walsh, Art Teacher and Student Council Moderator. Students: Molly Boyle, Rose Boyle, Delia Cannon, Jane O'Donnell, Mary Beth Zenyok, Marina Westcott, Leigh Catsanis, Lashawntja Hammer, and Kaitlyn Smith. Half the students represented the Student Council. The other half represented the Peer Leadership Program.

3240 VT04 Veterans and Auxiliary members who visited the VA Home in Vineland, NJ.

3225 VT05 Refreshments were available before departure in the Social Services Building. Freeholder Gerald Thornton addressed the group before departure expressing his gratitude and encouragement to those going on the trips.

3236 VT07 Cape May County Fare Free Transportation provided the transportation to either the Wilmington V. A. Hospital or the New Jersey Veterans' Memorial Home located in Vineland.
