Middle Township High School Band Honored

Freeholder Ralph Bakley, Sr. and the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized Middle Township High School’s Panther Marching Band at their Board meeting held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006. The Band was honored for finishing in first place in their division at the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championship. The band participated in the Group 2 category which includes bands with as many as 55 musicians. Middle’s band consists of 43 musicians plus a color guard. Under the direction of Band Director Ginny Russ and Assistant Band Director Lou Randazzo, the Band attained the highest score of all four competing groups which is comprised of schools from states all along the East Coast. Additionally, the Band won awards for drum major, percussion, color guard, high music and high visual.
