NOAA WP3 Hurricane Hunter Aircraft Lands at Cape May Airport
The WP-3D Orion Hurricane Hunter Aircraft landed at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Wildwood Aviation Museum located at the Cape May County Airport on Tuesday, May 1 as part of its 2007 East Coast Hurricane Awareness Tour. Normally manned by a crew of 18 to 20, the crew members conducted public tours of the aircraft to explain its various functions. This tour stop at the Cape May County Airport was sponsored by the NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum, the Delaware River and Bay Authority, the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Cape May County Emergency Management Communications Center, and the NWS.
