A government update on the status of tourism is scheduled with Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Assemblyman Nicholas Asselta, Assemblyman Jeff Van Drew, Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel and Freeholder Leonard Desiderio.
Diane Wieland, Director of Cape May County Department of Tourism, will provide participants with the most up-to-date research in a booklet for all attendees. Cape May and Atlantic counties continue to hold first and second place in total tourism dollars generated from 21 counties in New Jersey. Between the two regions, $12.7 billion is generated, representing 41 percent of the total tourism dollars raised in the entire state.
“The annual conference on tourism allows our department to share qualified research and information with the county’s businesses and tourism officials,” said Wieland. “This a chance to show our mom-and-pop businesses and non-profit organizations that local government has resources and marketing tools available for use at their business offices,” she added.
The conference is free-of-charge and open to the public.
