Phylum: Cordata
Class: Aves

Victorian Crowned Pigeon
White Crested Turaco

All birds are a warm blooded and covered with feathers. They differ between a .08 ounce Hummingbird to a 300 Pound Ostrich and number near 8,600 different species. Here at the zoo we house around 90 different bird species both inside our free flight aviary, and through the zoo.

Please remember that the world of birds is a free flight aviary, where the birds are fully flighted and
do fly around. Also remember to keep at least one door closed at all times! As you enter the building your must walk though 3 separate doors, it is important that at least one of these remain closed at all times to ensure that none of our bird have access to fly out of the building.

Also make sure to keep an eye out for the few animals that live inside our bird house that are NOT birds! See if you can spot them!

During the wintertime many of our parrots also live inside the foyers of the Aviary. But beware sometimes there loud screams can too loud to handle.
