The Cape May County Department of Management Information Services (M.I.S.) manages the County’s computer operations, maintains systems security and integrity, plans for network and technology standards, provides all departments with technical assistance, application design and management as well as their overall data communication infrastructure. The M.I.S. department interfaces with various vendors to provide effective solutions for the technological advancement of the County’s computerization. The M.I.S. department supports the County’s computer related functions. The M.I.S. department maintains 3 - IBM AS/400 minicomputers, 6 Novell LANs, 500+ PC’s, 350+ printers and 22 scanners.
Projects completed for 2001 included the installation of NCIC 2000 for the Prosecutor’s Office, configured and installed new applications for Crest Haven Nursing Home, installed MICR printing capabilities in the Treasurer’s Office, implemented various system upgrades and enhancements throughout the county.
Projects that the M.I.S. department has been involved with are as follows:
- County Clerk imaging system
- Jail mugshot system
- Electronic submission for various data for County offices
- Inkless fingerprinting
- Wireless connectivity from the Airport and Library to administration Building
- Election poll books with electronic voter signatures
- Implementation and conversion of Payroll/Human Resource computer system
- G.I.S. Mapping Web Site for the County of Cape May.
