WHAT IS A WATERSHED?
A watershed is the area of land that drains to a body of water such as a river, lake, bay or ocean.  It includes all of the land that drains to that particular body of water.  What happens on the land directly impacts that body of water.  Watersheds are integral to our quality of life.  The water we use in our daily life needs to be protected.  Surface and ground water provide our drinking water and are also used for businesses, industry and recreation.
