MISSION
The County Department of Human Services is committed to implementing, coordinating and improving the system of human services through the use of federal, state and county funds. At the county level, the office serves as the grants management office through which many statewide initiatives are operationalized . The funding streams administered by the department are as follows:

State regulations require that there be local advisory committees of providers and concerned citizens established to assist in plan development , resource allocation and program monitoring. Often through the committees and boards Requests for Proposals ( RFPs) are issued by the department for a new service. The advisory bodies are listed below . Preparing to Reach Employment Potential - www.cmcprep.com
A traveling program that provides comprehensive career counseling services for students attending Cape May County High Schools.
Starting Toward Employment Possibilities - www.cmcstep.com
Provides supported employment assistance and/or educational assistance for persons 18 years of age and older.
Opening Doors for Out of School Youth - www.odosy.com
Provides employment services for Cape May County youth ages 16 to 21 who have not completed high school or who have graduated but are unemployed or underemployed.

Identifies and addresses the needs of the Hispanic Community and rural poor.
