The Department of Tourism promotes Cape May County as a destination that includes the 16 municipalities that make up the county.  Our 30 miles of white sandy beaches that run along the Atlantic Ocean are just the beginning, the resorts and mainland communities of Cape May County offer the visitor a diverse vacation experience that spans our coastline, bayfront, lush wetlands and rural farmlands to make the Jersey Cape an ideal vacation destination.  Perfectly situated at the southern most tip of New Jersey, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay, Cape May County has been a favorite vacation paradise for generations.  As estimated 19 million visitors come to Cape May County annually to experience our historic and cultural activites, participate in our eco adventures, visit our County Parks and Zoo and walk our miles of exciting boardwalks in addition to spending time playing in our surf and fishing our waters.  

The Tourism Department's promotional and marketing effort focus primarily on marketing to ours top 5 markets that includes Central and Northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, with expanded efforts in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. and New England regions.  Our 'tank of gas way' marketing plan promotes to over 30 million people in a 300-mile radius. Outer taget marketing includes Canada focusing on the Provence of Quebec.  French speaking visitors from the Montreal area have come to love Cape May County as a favorite beach destination.
