History      The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program began in 1971 and grew out of a pilot program in New York which demonstrated beyond a doubt the value of services of older volunteers.  Since 1993, the Corporation for National & Community Service has administered the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.  RSVP is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation.  In fiscal year 2003, more than 500,000 RSVP volunteers served an average of four hours a week at an estimated 75,000 local organizations through 791 RSVP projects. 2012 RSVP Recognition Event Luncheon Photos
