PREVAILING TIME, ON Wednesday September 3, 2008, AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL BE PUBLICLY OPENED AND READ IN THE INTERMEDIATE MEETING ROOM (E142), WILLIAM E. STURM, JR. ADDENDUM NO. 1

Addendum No. 1 has been issued to the Contract Documents for the referenced project. The revision listed shall be made to the Contract Documents issued for the receipt of bids. This addendum shall become part of the total contract.

The Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by signing and returning the attached acknowledgement sheet with the Bidder’s Proposal.

The County regrets any inconvenience that this Addendum causes.

The revisions listed below shall become part of the contract, due consideration to these revisions shall be made by the Contractor in preparing his bid for the project. The Contractor shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by signing and returning the attached sheet with the Contractor’s Proposal. THE FOLLOWING CHANGES SHALL BE MADE TO THE SPECIFICATIONS:

Subsection 202.01 Description., Page 38: Add the following:

“202.01 Description.

This work shall also include the sifting of the materials excavated from the front slope of the existing pistol range berm.”

Subsection 202.12 Disposal, Use, or Reuse of Excess Material. Add the following:

“The Contractor shall excavate the front face of the pistol range berm to the limits as noted in the plans and as directed. The excavated material shall be sifted and the material that passes through the #4 sieve and contains less than 40% clay-size particles passing the #200 sieve shall be returned for re-use in the reconstruction of the front face of the pistol range berm. Any material not passing the #4 sieve shall be treated as hazardous waste and shall be disposed of in accordance with other parts of the Special Provisions. Any deficit in material for the front face of the berm shall be made up by using Borrow Excavation, Selected Materials.”

Subsection 202.13 Disposal of Regulated Waste., 1. Removal of Soil, Page 38:Revised the Special Provisions of this Subsection to read as follows:

“1. Removal of Soil – The berm soil shall be removed to the limits indicated on the Contract Drawings. The soil shall be sifted and the material that passes through the #4 sieve and contains less than 40% clay-size particles passing the #200 sieve shall be returned for re-use in the reconstruction of the front face of the pistol range berm. Any material not passing the #4 sieve shall be treated as hazardous waste and shall be properly disposed of.”

Subsection 202.14 Method of Measurement., Page 38:Add the following:

“Waste disposal will be measured by the cubic yard of material that is unsuitable to return fro re-use in the reconstruction of the front slope of the berm.

Roadway Excavation, Unclassified shall include all costs associated with the excavation of the front slope of the pistol range berm; the screening of the excavated materials; and the re-use and placement of the suitable screened materials into the reconstructed front slope of the pistol range berm.”

Subsection 202.15 Basis of Payment., Page 39:Add the following:
