CAPE MAY COUNTY – NEW JERSEY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SEALED PROPOSALS ADDRESSED TO STEPHEN O’CONNOR, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OF THE BOARD, WILL BE RECEIVED UP TO 2:00 P.M. PREVAILING TIME, ON Tuesday December 2, 2008, AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL BE PUBLICLY OPENED AND READ AT THE WILLIAM E. STURM JR., ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 4 MOORE ROAD, CREST HAVEN COMPLEX, CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NEW JERSEY, FOR THE FOLLOWING:

“OCEAN DRIVE (CR 619) STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE CONVEYANCE SYSTEM UPGRADES”

PROPOSAL FORMS, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS, SPECIFICATIONS AND OTHER BIDDING DOCUMENTS MAY BE OBTAINED UPON PAYMENT OF A $50.00 CHARGE (NON- REFUNDABLE), AT THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ENGINEER, DALE M. FOSTER, (609) 465-1035, DURING NORMAL OFFICE HOURS AT THE ABOVE ADDRESS

THE BOARD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL PROPOSALS IN WHOLE OR IN PART AND TO WAIVE SUCH INFORMALITIES AS MAY BE PERMITTED BY LAW.

BIDDERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF P.L. 1975, C. 127 (N.J.A.C.17: 27) AND CHAPTER 33 OF THE PUBLIC LAWS OF 1977.

BIDS MUST BE MADE ON STANDARD PROPOSAL FORM IN THE MANNER DESIGNATED THEREIN AND REQUIRED BY THE SPECIFICATIONS, MUST BE ENCLOSED IN SEALED ENVELOPES BEARING THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE BIDDER AND MARKED “OCEAN DRIVE (CR 619) STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE CONVEYANCE SYSTEM UPGRADES” ON THE OUTSIDE, ADDRESSED TO STEPHEN O’CONNOR, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR OF THE BOARD, ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 4 MOORE ROAD, CREST HAVEN COMPLEX, CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NEW JERSEY 08210, AND BE DELIVERED AT THE PLACE ON OR BEFORE THE HOUR NAMED ABOVE.

The undersigned hereby declares that __he__ ha__ carefully examined the Advertisement, Specifications, Plans and site of the Project and form of Contract and Bond for the projects as specified and delineated at the price per unit of measure for each scheduled item of work stated in the Schedule of Prices following.

 ADDENDUM NO. 1

            Addendum No. 1 has been issued to the Contract Documents for the referenced project. The revision listed shall be made to the Contract Documents issued for the receipt of bids. This addendum shall become part of the total contract. 

 

            This Addendum does not change the time, date nor place for receipt of bids.

 

            The Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by signing and returning the attached acknowledgement sheet with the Bidder’s Proposal.

 

            The County regrets any inconvenience that this Addendum causes.

The revisions listed below shall become part of the contract, due consideration to these revisions shall be made by the Contractor in preparing his bid for the project. The Contractor shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by signing and returning the attached sheet with the Contractor’s Proposal. Proposals not including a signed copy of the attached sheet will not be considered.

 

THE FOLLOWING CHANGES SHALL BE MADE TO THE PLANS:

 

On Sheet 1 of 7, in the INDEX OF DRAWINGS, the following changes are to be made:

·         Add Sheet 7B – Traffic Control Plan and Details

On Sheet 2 of 7, Note 14 is revised to read as follows:

 

            “14.      All trenches shall be backfilled without delay. Open trenches shall be kept to a minimum. All trenches shall be properly backfilled and brought to grade prior to the end of each work day. Trenches shall not remain open overnight.”

 

On Sheet 5 of 7, Note 1 within the STORM SEWER MANAHOLE FRAME AND COVER DETAIL is revised to read as follows:

 

            “1.        Words “CAPE MAY COUNTY DPW” and “DUMP NO WASTE! DRAINS TO WATERWAYS! shall be cast into lid.”
